TNT is rebranding its India-based domestic road express arm from Speedage to TNT as part of itsstrategy to become the market leader in the Indian market for domestic and international express
services, using an integrated air and road network.The name change shows the successful integration of Speedage into TNT’s global expressnetwork, the Dutch group said today. Headquartered in Bangalore, TNT India now has 3,500 employees,614 depots, 29 hubs and 1,546 road line-haul vehicles all over India.
The rebranding will include the set up of a single customer contact number comprisingsignage, vehicles, uniforms, the website, and every touch point where the brand is visible. Asingle brand gives more visibility to the company, its products and services, TNT said.
“This is the first acquisition in India by one of the top four express players to berebranded. We now offer customers a single point solution for international air, domestic next dayand domestic day-definite services, using an integrated air-road network,” said Abhik Mitra,Managing Director, TNT India.
Earlier this year, TNT announced further steps towards fully integrating its Indian roadexpress subsidiary, acquired in September 2006, into the company’s global information technologysystem, called Global Link. As a result, customers using TNT’s domestic road infrastructure inIndia can benefit from a 24-hour real-time track and trace facility of their shipments. TNT thusoffers a common IT network for all its branches in India, including 168 Speedage offices.
