FedEx Express was resuming normal service yesterday after the devastating tornados that killed some50 people across the central USA on Tuesday night also damaged property at its Memphis hub.
A storm tore a roof off a hangar at the hub, and the express operator was forced to delayflights while it coped with the damage, leading to later collections and deliveries for somecustomers.
In a National Service Disruption notice to customers on February 6, FedEx Express said thehub and flight operations had experienced substantial disruptions on Tuesday night due to gustywinds and thunderstorms. Consistent with the provisions of the FedEx Service Guide, the company wassuspending Money-Back Guarantee for U.S. domestic packages and shipments inbound into the U.S. frominternational locations with a delivery commitment of February 6, 2008.
