German same-day express and emergency logistics provider time:matters has added Ljubljana to itsnetwork, enabling faster deliveries to and from Slovenia and the neighbouring regions of Austria
and Slovakia.Effective December 1, time:matters has sealed a cooperation agreement with the Slovenianairline Adria Airways which has regular daily flights to key European airports such as Frankfurt,Munich, Zurich and Vienna.
As a result, Southeast Central Europe will gain a quick direct connection to the company’sinternational logistics network. This will result in advantages not only for companies that haveparticularly urgent shipments to send to or from Slovenia but firms based in neighbouring Austriaor Slovakia will also benefit from the new sameday hub at nearby Ljubljana Airport, time:matterssaid in a statement.
The integration of Adria’s flight plan into time:matters’ sameday route network means forexample that important components or spare parts can be flown directly from Ljubljana to Viennafour times a day or to Zurich three times a day – so that they usually reach their recipient withinjust a few hours after dispatch. Up to now such express deliveries often first had to betransported from Slovenia to Graz Airport by car, causing the loss of valuable time. Since flightsfrom Ljubljana also fly to the important transit airports in Frankfurt and Munich several times aday, express shipments to destinations outside of Europe can in many cases also be realized“sameday.”
“The cooperation with Adria Airways is of great significance for our customers, since this isone of the few airlines that regularly flies directly to Ljubljana,” explained Steve Plenk, managing director of time:matters in Austria. “The economic development in southeast CentralEurope, which is characterized by constant growth, enforces the region’s continuously increasingsignificance that is also associated with the increased demand for quick logistics services. Theintegration of the EU Member State Slovenia into our ‘high-speed’ network is for this reason both acustomer oriented and strategically consistent decision,” he said.
time:matters, with offices in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and China, uses the network ofLufthansa and various partner airlines such as Swiss to serve over 400 destinations in 90countries, as well as Deutsche Bahn’s high-speed rail services for destinations across Germany.
