German-based courier, same-day and emergency logistics service provider time:matters has opened newoffices in Austria and China, and plans to expand its international network with more stations and

The former Lufthansa Cargo subsidiary, now majority-owned by financial investor BuchananCapital Partners, has opened a branch office in Vienna, the second European country where it has asubsidiary, with responsibility for Austria and neighbouring countries. The first office was openedin Switzerland.

In China, the express firm now has a sales representative in Shanghai. This is its secondAsian location after opening a sales office in Manila last year. Time:matters already expanded inEurope earlier this year through a cooperation partnership with Nordic company Jetpak.

“We want to grow internationally and expand our network,” managing director Franz-JosephMiller told CEP-Research in an interview at the Transport Logistic trade fair in Munich. This meanthaving own offices at key locations and cooperating with local or regional operators in othermarkets. “I can imagine opening about 3-5 stations a year.”

The entry of the financial investor had helped the company to speed up this strategy, hepointed out.  Time:matters, which does not disclose revenue figures, already grew about 25% in2006 and is targeting a turnover increase of 15-20% for this year, he noted.

The company, whose services are primarily targeted at freight forwarders and logisticscompanies, is seeing increasing demand for regular same-day urgent transportation alongside ad-hocbusiness, Miller said.
