British express parcels carrier Amtrak has been awarded a new three year, multi-million poundcontract with Kleeneze, the leading home shopping business, including European transportation.
Kleeneze was acquired by Findel plc from European Home Retail in October 2006 and, inawarding the contract, the new owners are retaining Amtrak as the sole carrier for all UK expressparcels business and, in addition, awarding it the European business which used to be carried byGeopost.
Kleeneze specialises in a wide range of household, health and beauty products. Amtrakwill be providing day definite deliveries to the Kleeneze sales network that employs 12,000home-based distributors in the UK. These local distributors supply direct to householders in theirarea.
Amtrak will be delivering about 5,500 parcels a night following collection from the Kleenezedistribution centre near Bristol. Kleeneze has worked successfully with Amtrak for a number ofyears.
