DHL has announced the appointment of Charles Graham as the new Global CEO for Aviation, DHL Expressand as a member of the company’s Global Express Management Board. He succeeds Terry Nord, who will
retire from DHL after eight years running DHL’s global aviation services.Based in Bonn, Germany, Graham will be responsible for all aspects of DHL’s aviationactivities, in particular leading the strategic development of DHL’s global aviation network toboth drive and support the company’s growth plans.
“Charles’ track record and extensive aviation, transportation, logistics and financialexperience will be invaluable to DHL and will serve to further enhance the depth and breadth of oursenior management team as DHL charts a course of global growth,” said John Mullen, DHL Express’Global Chief Executive Officer.
Scottish-born Charles Graham was CEO of the aircraft leasing company AWAS (formerly known asAnsett Worldwide) from 1997 until 2006. He previously spent 18 years with TNT Express, including asCFO and Group Executive Director, helping the then-Australian company’s worldwide expansion andoverseeing the creation of its European air network.
After joining DHL in 1999, Terry Nord developed its global aviation activities, including theEuropean air network, and set up partnerships with Cathay Pacific, Lufthansa and Northwest Cargofor regional and intercontinental flights.
