The 500,000th shipment was an item from mail-order consumer electronics group ConradElectronic which uses the shipments for its Dutch B2C shipments.

DHL said that it now has about 400 Servicepoints in the Netherlands, offering parcel drop-offor collection services. Thanks to the network’s increasing density, about 80% of all Dutchhouseholds are situated within 4 km of a Servicepoint.

Nicole van Heukelom, Director DHL Servicepoint, commented: “During the last few months wehave seen an enormous development both in the density of the network and in the number ofshipments.” The network will be further extended during 2007, she added.

Frank de Groot, marketing manager of Conrad Electronic, added: “Our customers have been ableto use the DHL Servicepoints since September 2006. They have taken to it quickly. At present 5% ofour orders are delivered via a DHL Servicepoint, and the percentage is increasing.”
