Spain’s Correos raises prices by 2.6%

Spain’s national postal operator has increased its tariffs by an average 2.66% for the reservedarea (up to 50 grammes) and 2.97% for its other markets from 1 January this year.



Ordinary standard nationally-distributed letters and cards are up one cent to EUR 0.30 andthose weighing between 20 and 50 grammes also rise a cent to EUR 0.42.

International letters under 20g are up one cent to EUR 0.58 for European countries, whilethey stay the same for non-European destinations at EUR 0.78 (20g) and EUR 1.66 (20 to 50g).Standard letters between 20g and 50g to European states remain at EUR 1.29.

Post office giro services rise 2.1% to a fixed tariff of EUR 1.46 for remitters withoutcurrent or savings accounts with Correos.

“The new table of prices simplifies the tariff structure of some products and services andresponds to the evolution of costs and maintains reasonable prices for all products included in theuniversal postal service,” Correos said in a statement.
