DHL launches new products and facilities in Asia

DHL has continued its Asian expansion by improving products and opening service centres in theregion.



DHL and its Chinese partner Sinotrans have launched an economical solution for heavyweightshipments, over 70kg, between China and Japan.
“DHL Value Heavyweight users will enjoy the convenience of door-to-door shipping with thesimplicity of one single invoice,” said DHL. “The new product reaffirms the importance of theChinese market to DHL-Sinotrans, which is dedicated to facilitating trade and supporting economicdevelopments in the different regions of China.”

Meanwhile, DHL has opened new service centres in Penang, Malaysia, and at Sacheon Airport andDaegu in South Korea. The 31,000 square-foot Penang facility can sort 4,000 packages a day andfeatures a fully-automated material handling system, ball decks to handle containers and spotcooling in the warehouse. It offers customers time-definite service and direct connections to Asia,Europe and North America.

The Korean service centres have extended opening hours and highly advanced logisticsequipment to provide customers with a faster and more accurate service than before, the companysaid.

DHL has also launched a next-day service between Taiwan and New Delhi, India, and hasexpanded its express delivery service in Taiwan to include major towns and villages in the Yilanarea following the opening of the Hsuehshan Tunnel, which has significantly shortened the traveltime between Yilan and Taipei.
