Top executives from public postal operators, private express firms, industry experts andpoliticians will address the second European conference organised by the German postal association
BVDP in Prague on April 27-28. The conference – entitled “Market success with postal services –Gold-digger spirit in Central Europe” – focuses on Central and Eastern Europe, a region that offersstrong growth opportunities for international operators.Among the highlights are speeches on European postal liberalisation policy by MEP Markus Ferber,the European Parliament’s leading postal expert, and on the direct mail market in Central andEastern Europe by Alastair Tempest, director general of the European direct marketing association.There are also presentations by Czech Post, DHL Express, Posten (Sweden) and Ukraine Post, as wellas technical presentations by a number of postal technology suppliers.
The two-day event also offers participants valuable contact-making and networking opportunitieswith senior managers from Central and Eastern European countries. Postal organisations in thisregion face the challenge of modernising and commercialising their services, networks andsystems.
