DHL has appointed Alec Ang as General Manager for DHL Express Singapore with responsibility for theoverall running of all DHL Express’ operations in Singapore. The appointment follows the naming of
Sam Leong as Country Manager for Malaysia in June.Alec Ang succeeds Teo Ser Luck, who was recently elected as a Member of Parliament inSingapore, DHL Express Singapore said. Mr Ang joins DHL Express Singapore from DHL Global CustomerSolutions (GCS), where he was Vice President of Supply Chain Logistics. He also won the coveted CIOAward at the CIO Asia Conference Awards 2006. He previously held senior positions in all sectors oflogistics such as Marketing, Strategic Planning, Pricing, Costing and Supply Chain Management, bothat country and regional level.
Ms Yasmin Aladad Khan, Senior Vice President, DHL Express South East Asia, said: “With hisvast experience in the logistics sector, coupled with his open door approach to management, I amsure that Alec will bring out the best in our already very competent staff at DHL ExpressSingapore.”
Separately, Sam Leong took up his post as the new Country Manager of DHL Express Malaysia inJune. He is responsible for developing, managing and expanding DHL Express’ business in Malaysia.He was previously Country Operations Director for South Korea and has 22 years of service inmarketing, planning and operational management roles at country, regional and global level.
