According to a report of “Il Sole 24 Ore” the board of directors of Poste Italiane hasannounced the organization’s development plan for 2006-2008. It is targeting a 3.5 per cent
rise in consolidated turnover (to 10.38bn€), a 10 per cent growth in Ebit (to 1.2bn €) and anincrease of the Ebitda by 5 per cent at 2.2bn euros, over the three-year period. Poste Italianeaims to increase its 1.4 percent market share in the market for parcel services. Italy’smarket for parcel services has a size of 30.2bn €.. Most important competitors are Deutsche PostWorld Net with 18.2 percent and TNT 12.2 per cent market shares.Poste Italiane is also aiming to develop its financial services to the point where itsBancoPosta subsidiary becomes Italy’s biggest ‘bank’ by customer numbers.
