Out-of-home delivery operator Pickup will install nearly 350 solar-powered lockers outside stores of home furnishings chain BUT to further expand its network in France.
Under their partnership, Pickup and BUT have already installed parcel lockers at 18 stores with about 30 more to follow soon. The full-scale rollout of 350 lockers will then continue gradually over the coming months.
Nationwide rollout
The La Poste subsidiary presented the innovative parcel lockers a year ago after successful tests during the winter, installed 1,000 units by last October and was aiming for 1,500 deployments by the end of last year.
Overall, the large-scale project is part of Pickup’s ongoing growth strategy, further strengthening its presence throughout the country, with 17,000 parcel shops and 4,500 lockers to date.
