Parisians will get a fresh taste of Japan through a new delivery service for fresh agricultural and fishery products provided by Yamato Holdings and Japan Airlines in cooperation with Chronopost.
The two Japanese companies have teamed up to launch the transportation and delivery service, which will kick off in September with the opening of a special shop ‘Le goût du Japon’ (Taste of Japan) inside the Workshop ISSE building to test the local market.
Yamato will handle shipment collections in Japan, JAL will fly the products and Chronopost will provide deliveries within France.
The new service is designed to help Japanese regional producers to expand overseas sales by tapping into growing demand for Japanese food while overcoming transportation challenges and meeting strict food safety standards and regulations in France.
The launch follows a cooperation agreement signed last year between Chronopost and Yamato aimed at expanding cross-border chilled and frozen food transport between France and Japan.
Looking ahead, the two Japanese companies said they wanted to expand the food delivery service to Japanese restaurants as well as consumers in France, working in cooperation with the DPDgroup network.
