IBC opens express clearance facility at Chicago airport

International Bonded Couriers (IBC) has opened a new Express Consignment Clearance Facility (ECCF) at Chicago’s ORD airport to speed up handling and distribution of e-commerce parcel imports to the USA.

IBC said these Express Consignment Clearance Facilities enable efficient duty-free import of e-commerce parcels and other time sensitive shipments. It claims to be the largest non-integrator operating such facilities and the leader in cross border e-commerce parcel clearance to the USA.

The company already operates three other ECCFs in Miami, New York and Los Angeles that it claims allow “unparalleled” access to the entire USA, especially the East Coast, West Coast and Florida.

With the addition of Chicago, e-commerce parcel importers can now have access to major markets in surrounding northern regions. Parcels can be sent for low-cost ground delivery to large consumer markets in Chicago, Milwaukee, St Louis, Indianapolis, Columbus and across America's midwest.

Chicago's O'Hare International Airport (ORD) is a major international hub from major cities across the globe and handles over 100,000 tons a month in international cargo. Chicago is America's largest inland city with over 2.5 million people and the leading metropolitan area in the mid-west.

E-commerce parcel shippers can send direct to IBC's Chicago ECCF from over 50 international cities in Canada, Mexico, South America, Asia, and Europe, according to the company.

Founded in 1979, IBC is a wholesaler offering express transportation and delivery to and from the USA through a network of offices in the USA and several other countries, along with a broad network of international partners. It handles some 50 million shipments a year from several thousand clients including major air express carriers and transportation companies, leaders of fashion, pharmaceutical and financial institutions plus many international governmental agencies.
