DHL Parcel Germany and eBay are expanding cooperation for private sales on the eBay marketplace, including an innovative promotion move on delivery vans.
The e-commerce giant announced this week that it is extending its strategic cooperation with DHL in Germany to make selling goods on the eBay marketplace even easier for private individuals.
Private sellers on eBay can now use the mobile parcel stamp from DHL Parcel to frank their items online and send them without a printer, regardless of time and place. The private sellers buy a shipping label as usual via "My eBay", whereupon they will also receive a mobile parcel label including QR-code directly by e-mail in the future.
When the parcel is delivered to DHL, the seller presents the code on his smartphone to have the parcel stamp created at a DHL location of his choice.
Parcels can also be handed in at one of the approximately 3,400 packing stations in Germany – without prior registration and independent of opening hours. For example, sellers can frank their goods on Sundays and return them for dispatch.
DHL Parcel and eBay will accompany the expansion of the strategic cooperation with 60 jointly branded delivery vehicles – 30 each in Berlin and Munich. In the coming months, the vehicles will be marked with the message "Sell on eBay.de and send directly with DHL in your area".
In addition, a joint sweepstake will be launched in January. Among all private sellers using the eBay shipping solution with DHL, the partners will raffle a year of free shipping of all eBay sales via DHL Parcel.
