PostNL wins support from all unions for new collective agreement

PostNL

PostNL has successfully reached agreement with four different Dutch unions for a new collective labour agreement and a separate agreement for part-time Saturday deliverers.

The company announced today that members of the FNV Publiek Belang trade union have accepted the negotiation results regarding the new PostNL collective labour agreement (CLA) and the Saturday deliverer CLA. On 30 November PostNL and the trade unions Bond Van Post Personeel, CNV Publieke Diensten and VHP2 already reached agreements for the two deals.

The new PostNL CLA will apply from 1 April 2017 up to and including 31 December 2018. In 2017 and 2018 salaries will increase in four steps by a total of 3%. This is 0.4% more than previously agreed. For Saturday deliverers, the same duration and salary increase have been agreed.

In addition, it has been agreed that mobility within PostNL will be further stimulated. The CLA for PostNL applies to almost all of the PostNL employees in Parcels, Mail in the Netherlands and Head Office.

Herna Verhagen, CEO of PostNL, welcomed the agreements. “Taking into account the current developments in the postal market, wide support of the CLAs is of utmost importance. That is why I’m happy that we were able to reach final agreements with all four trade unions,” she said.

PostNL explained that it had renegotiated the previous agreements after only a small majority of the members of BVPP and CNV Publieke Diensten have voted in favour of the former agreement in principle in October, and the FNV did not sign it.

“Taking into account the current developments in the postal market, wide support for the CLAs is of utmost importance. On 28 November, PostNL engaged in negotiations with all unions to seek a solution that is acceptable for all parties and hence create the wider support among employees,” it said.
