Ex-DHL Express Germany chief Albeck is new trans-o-flex CEO

Wolfgang Albeck

Wolfgang Albeck, the former long-serving head of DHL Express in Germany, has been named as the new CEO of Germany’s trans-o-flex with effect from 1st April 2017.

The 65-year-old retired from his position with DHL Express at the end of 2016 after a long career at Deutsche Post DHL where he held numerous management positions in the Parcel and Express organization. He had previously worked for nearly 10 years for TNT Express and various freight forwarding companies.

At trans-o-flex, the CEP and logistics expert replaces Frank Iden who stepped down as of end-March to move into consulting.

Albeck will be responsible for continuing the turnaround of the loss-making company, which was sold last year by Austrian Post to its former owners after several years of weak results. The company is now refocusing on providing logistics solutions for the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and consumer electronics industries.

“The focus of my work is and has always been on the people working for us, the quality of our work, our customers, our social commitment as well as a clear corporate alignment and the success of our company,” Albeck commented. “And this will also be the focus of my work for trans-o-flex.”

At trans-o-flex, Albeck will assume direct responsibility for Sales & Marketing, Customer Service, HR, Legal, Safety, Quality Management, IT as well as Internal and External Communications. In addition to Albeck, trans-o-flex’s Board of Directors also includes Wolfgang Weber (Operations) and Axel Stetenfeld (Finance).

The trans-o-flex Group, which has a workforce of approximately 1,900 employees, had sales of about € 490 million in 2016.
