UK broker Parcel Monkey launches e-commerce platform

A unique new end to end e-commerce service by Parcel Monkey is taking all of the hard work out of selling and shipping for thousands of eBay users, individuals and small retailers across the UK.

The technology-driven parcel broker said today it has launched a full e-commerce solution which has transformed the industry by delivering total fulfilment to its customers.

It comes after Parcel Monkey’s Managing Director Nav Ramiah made two major investments after recognising a need to offer customers more than just a parcel delivery service.

“Parcel Monkey was created to offer ease of use for anyone looking to send a parcel,” said Nav. “But I quickly realised that in order to grow we couldn’t be a business which sold just one thing.

“Parcel carriers just sell parcels – but their customers need more, they need fulfilment, they need a website. Therefore, we have created a complete end to end ecommerce platform which takes all of the hard work out of selling and shipping products online.”

Kong, which is seed funded by Parcel Monkey, is an innovative free service which provides retailers and small businesses with their own online store – developed by a team of award-winning digital experts that specialise in building Software as a Service platforms.

This professional platform is ideal for anyone – including small retailers or eBay sellers – who is looking to sell products online, according to the company.

Parcel Monkey has also relaunched and rebranded its cloud fulfilment service to provide a low-cost, multi-channel service – complete with its own warehouse management system – providing a full end to end e-commerce platform.

Once individuals have set up their own online store, they can ship their products directly to Parcel Monkey’s warehouse for storage and with every sale, the business will pick, pack and dispatch it for them.

Nav added: “We are delighted that we can now offer our customers a ‘shop-front’ for their products as well as a complete fulfilment function.

“The Kong service is already being used by almost 2,000 businesses, which shows just how much of an appetite there is for this service.”

Stores created on Kong are 100% Google ‘Mobile Ready’ approved so customers can seamlessly browse and buy straight from their device, phone or tablet. All credit card and transaction information is protected by the same level of security used by banks – a 256-bit SSL certificate.

Parcel Monkey’s new cloud fulfilment service is an easy to use facility which allows customers to be connected to virtually any e-commerce platform or sales channel. A virtual warehouse allows businesses to ship products directly for storage to be automatically picked, packed and shipped at every sale.

Every customer receives their own unique log in allowing them to see where their stock is at any one time – providing customers with total control and complete visibility.

Nav added: “Our original cloud fulfilment service had been operating for two years but we found we were faced with many challenges with suppliers because we were not using our own WMS (Warehouse Management System) and we had to integrate into other software. Now that has all changed.

“We have moved away from the old look and have created a state-of-the-art service which has an abundance of features that concentrate on helping customers to grow their business.

“We believe that we are experts in fulfilment and this is supported by our investment in new technology – including new Apple iTouch scanning devices. This is a very exciting time for the company, there is no other services like these available.

“As a company, Parcel Monkey is committed to helping smaller businesses succeed and both Kong and the new cloud fulfilment service will help to achieve that.”
