UPS has outscored competitors to win this year’s ranking as the express and parcel operator with the best image among logistics decision-makers in Germany in a well-respected annual magazine survey. The company scored 799 out of a maximum 1,000 points, well ahead of the second-placed company with 745 points.
The survey of 400 logistics managers in German industry and trade companies was commissioned by the transport magazine VerkehrsRundschau and conducted by the market research institute Kleffmann. The ranking also covered four other transport industry segments alongside the CEP sector analysing 79 of the most important logistics companies in Germany.
Since the launch of the image award in 2002, UPS Germany ranked first eight times and was twice second in the CEP category.
According to the study, the image ranking is important for 96% of the decision makers in industry and trade when it comes to awarding transport and logistics contracts. Product quality, customer focus and value-for-money were cited as the key factors determining the image of a logistics provider, the survey showed. What was also considered important among the respondents is compliance with all state and social norms and regulations by the contracted service provider.
Frank Sportolari, head of UPS Germany, accepted the award at a ceremony in Munich on February 18. “I am proud of our employees and that our daily performance has been recognised once again. The fact that industry and trade put us at the top position ahead of other parcel service providers already for the eighth time also shows that we have long-term and successful relationships with our customers. Together, we find effective solutions that help our small and large customers serve national and international markets in an optimal way or open up new markets.”
