DPD Germany has launched a same-day delivery service for high-street retailers in cooperation with cash register expert poe and same-day delivery provider tiramizoo with the aim to boost omni-channel commerce targeting both retail outlet visitors and online shoppers.
Through the new cooperation, orders for same-day delivery can now be directly placed with the POSMAN cash register systems or with poe’s TRADEMAN merchandise management system, which makes it easier for high-street retailers to offer same-day deliveries to their customers.
If the goods are not available at retailers’ store, they can virtually check their stocks at other branches and deliver the goods from there to the customers’ door step. Even bulky goods can conveniently be delivered to customers’ homes while they continue their shopping trip in the city. The same-day delivery is made by Munich-based Tiramizoo in which DPD has a minority stake.
The new cash register integration now also enables the same-day delivery of goods which are purchased online and then delivered from a bricks-and-mortar retail outlet. The poe software covers the entire service spectrum ranging from warehouse management and product orders to the arrangement of same-day transport and shipment processing.
“It has never been easier for high-street retailers to combine a high level of product availability on site with convenient same-day delivery”, Michael Knaupe, Director of Products & Services at DPD Germany, commented. “We are planning to gradually integrate further services with the poe cash register systems, enabling retailers to link their sales and shipping channels even more closely.”
Dietmar Papenkordt, Managing Director of poe GmbH & Co. This enables our customers to provide more added value to shoppers thus giving them a significant competitive advantage.”
Philipp Walz, Director of Marketing and Sales at tiramizoo, additionally highlighted the importance of efficiently linking the customer's logistics systems when it comes to same-day delivery and a convenient shipping process through the integration with the poe cash register system.
Same-day delivery with tiramizoo is made within 90 minutes or during a two-hour time window which the customer can choose between 10 am and 8 pm. This service is currently available in more than 160 towns and cities within Germany and Austria.
