DPD Lithuania picks up ‘most innovative logistics company’ award

DPD Lithuania received two awards at the country’s annual Logistics and Transport Forum 2015 held on December 9, 2015. The Ministry of Transport and Communications evaluated it for E-progress in implementing the “1 Hour Predict” solution, while the Lithuanian Logistics Association awarded it for innovations in installing the most modern automatic sorting equipment in the new Kaunas terminal.

The “1 Hour Predict” solution implemented by DPD Lithuania allows couriers to plan an optimal route for their trip and save 3% to 8% of work time. This way the work time of 350 couriers was optimised. The system also allows notification of recipients via an SMS and/or e-mail on a shipment's delivery time, thus couriers do not have to call the recipients and coordinate the delivery time themselves. This saves additional work time and increases couriers' work efficiency.

“We call this year the year of innovations. We had five investment projects at almost the same time last year and this year all of them have been implemented. And such awards are very important for us,” said Indre Puise, CEO of DPD Lithuania.
