Finnish retail group Anttila Oy has signed up Posti to provide supply chain services in Finland for all its department stores and online stores.

Under the agreement, Posti will be responsible for the warehousing services of 25 Anttila department stores, nine Kodin1 department stores and Anttila.com and Kodin1.com online stores with associated value-added services, transport of products to the stores and transport and return services of online store products for consumer customers.

“We feel honoured that one of the biggest commercial players in Finland has chosen us as their logistics partner. We are in a unique position to be able to bring Anttila's online and department store warehousing along with their value-added services under one roof and offer an optimal delivery service to store and to the end customer. This way, we are supporting Anttila as they reshape their organization, leaving them free to focus on their core business,” said Harri Kämppä, director of Supply Chain Solutions at Posti.

Anttila is continuing restructuring work and new department stores will continue to open in the course of 2016. The company's supply chain and logistics function is part of this on-going restructuring work.

“When choosing a supply chain solutions provider, what mattered to us was ensuring that the provider would provide the solutions required to support the Anttila reform program. We consider our agreement with Posti more than just a service agreement, that is, as a partnership agreement when building a successful, multi-channel Finnish retail enterprise,” explained Arto Gauffin, Supply Chain Director, Anttila Oy.

Posti will be offering Anttila the most diverse warehousing services currently available on the market, including fashion logistics value-added services and hazardous substances storage in a single location.

In addition, parcel terminals, or parcel points, are gaining popularity as pickup points for online purchases and have become a standard delivery option for online stores. In the future, Anttila's online customers will also be able to make use of Posti's 480 parcel points.
