Pony Express and Kazakh e-retailer launch pick-up points with fitting rooms

Online shoppers can not only pick up clothes and shoes but also try them on straight away in new parcel shops opened in Almaty, the largest city and former capital of Kazakhstan.

Russian delivery company Pony Express has expanded its partnership with Kazakhstan’s major e-retailer KupiVip Group with the opening of the first two pick-up points that include a fitting room.

All shoppers of the discount fashion outlet KupiVip.kz will be able to receive, try on and pay for their purchases at the two express centres operating in cooperation with Pony Express right in the city centre. Thanks to the new initiative, KupiVip.kz expects the number of online orders in Almaty to increase by 30% and the average shopping basket value to rise by 15%.

"The market in Kazakhstan is one of our priorities in business development and e-commerce is an important growth driver. Therefore, we pay special attention to cooperation with e-commerce companies in Kazakhstan, offering completely new logistics solutions. Pony Express is not just a provider of logistics services but also a partner who is responsible for the team result – the percentage increase in sales and profit growth. The project, which we are implementing together with KupiVip.kz, has already proven the effectiveness of this approach to business," Georgy Alikoshvili, CEO of Pony Express, said.

Therefore, our main task is to offer them high-quality and convenient service. The cooperation with Pony Express and the launch of order pick-up points is another important step in this direction," Oskar Hartmann, president of KupiVip Group, commented.

In 2015, KupiVip.kz signed a strategic partnership with Pony Express. The logistics operator not only delivers the goods of the fashion outlet to 22 cities of Kazakhstan but also provides consulting services to shoppers. As a result of the cooperation, the sales level of KupiVip.kz products delivered by PONY EXPRESS reached 90%, which is the highest attainable rate in the industry.

Earlier this year, Pony Express and KupiVip launched a return service for products purchased on KupiVip.kz. To use the return service which is available in 16 cities in Kazakhstan, customers just need to order a shipment pick-up from their home or office. In addition, they can return their shipments at Pony Express’ customer service centres all over the country. The cost of returning a shipment to KupiVip’s warehouse located in the metropolitan region of Moscow is about RUB 228 (€3) for KupiVip.kz customers.

Founded in 2008, KupiVip Group comprises the internet shops KupiVip.ru, KupiVip.kz, KupiVip.by, the service division KupiVip Ecommerce Services as well as the shoe and accessories e-retailer Sapato.ru.

KupiVip.kz changes the standards of fashion goods purchases by offering sales with discounts of up to 90% on prestigious international brands. For its business partners, KupiVip.kz represents a universal platform to liquidate their remaining stocks of fashion products. KupiVip’s purchasing offices are located in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Berlin, Milan, Paris and Almaty.
