DPD launches ‘rate your courier’ and ‘e-tips’ in Germany

DPD is launching its latest innovative services for parcel receivers in Germany with a ‘rate your courier’ function and the chance to electronically tip the delivery person.

Customers who have received a parcel from DPD can now give instant feedback and rate the delivery through a prominently displayed new function in the DPD app or online under the company’s Paketnavigator.de website.

In the customer feedback function, recipients can rate not only the delivery but also DPD’s overall services on a scale of 1 – 5 stars. Customers giving only a 1 or 2 star rating can comment on what they were dissatisfied with.

Really satisfied customers can even tip the delivery person via an electronic payment functionality that uses PayPal. Each DPD delivery person can decide for himself whether to register for this service.

The new functions, which went live yesterday (November 26), use well-known features from the online world and represent “a unique digital service in the industry” which will benefit both recipients and delivery persons, according to DPD Germany. The company aims to use the data, which is collected anonymously, to ensure its quality and develop its premium services.

“We want to move closer to receivers,” explained Michael Knaupe, DPD’s director of domestic products and services. “This direct feedback is of priceless value for us. With the parallel introduction of the tip function we are even going one step further and want to give our delivery people the chance to experience customer satisfaction at first hand. They do a tremendous job every day, and especially now in the Christmas season!”
