AliExpress opens Moscow showroom as partner SPSR wins logistics contracts

AliExpress, part of Alibaba Group, has opened a showroom in Moscow located at a joint order pick-up centre with SPSR Express as part of their long-term cooperation on the occasion of today’s 11.11 Global Shopping Festival while SPSR signed logistics contracts with Lenovo and Wileyfox who are expanding to Russia.

In its showroom in Moscow, AliExpress offers 150 product types in the categories that are popular among Russian consumers: outerwear, shoes, electronics, accessories, sports articles, children's clothes and shoes. They can be purchased after pre-ordering with special discounts, from today onwards.

Mark Savadsky, Director Business Development at AliExpress in Russia and CIS countries, commented on the idea of creating the showroom:” AliExpress is known for offering customers an extensive range of products at best prices. That's why we decided to give our customers in Moscow the possibility to see personally the product quality that they order on AliExpress. When selecting items for the showroom, we focused on trends for the winter season as well as the latest technological innovations.”

Aleks Vasilyev, Director International Development at SPSR Express, said: “We very much appreciate our cooperation with AliExpress, and we are proud that they have chosen us as a partner for such a campaign. It is particularly symbolic that our joint co-branded centre has been selected as the venue – it is the first off-line showroom with AliExpress products opened at the first order pick-up centre of AliExpress worldwide. In addition, many of the goods presented can be delivered with SPSR-Express within five days. This is especially important for such products as e.g. down jackets as customers want to get them as quickly as possible.”

In addition to the showroom, AliExpress announced the expansion of the product category related to cars. Under the joint agreement with Lifan Motors, AliExpress customers will get for the first time the opportunity to get coupons for purchasing new Lifan cars at a discounted price. The sale of the coupons has been timed in line with the global shopping event. In the future, AliExpress plans to sell the Lifan cars directly on its platform.

Lifan already successfully sells its cars on the internet in China. Considering the existing cooperation with Lifan Industry and Alibaba in China, the cooperation with AliExpress in Russia represents the next stage in the company’s development and an important step for the automobile industry in Russia as a whole.

Meanwhile, SPSR Express won an exclusive delivery contract with Lenovo, a global manufacturer of PCs, notebooks and tablets, for shipping the products from their official internet shop to Russia.

All the products delivered are manufactured and certified for the Russian market and include the standard guarantee. As part of the agreement with Lenovo, SPSR Express will also provide warehousing services, export-import clearance and fulfillment abroad.

In terms of delivery, shoppers can choose the most convenient option on the last mile from SPSR logistics solutions including courier delivery, delivery to order pick-up centres and to parcel terminals.

Vasilyev commented: “We are proud to have been selected by one of the most famous global technology companies.”

In a separate agreement, SPSR Express has started delivering new smartphones from the innovative brand Wileyfox to Russia from November onwards. This innovation will be available to Russian customers at the Wileyfox internet store and via the JD.com platform. The delivery times to Russia will be kept as short as possible amounting to three days. Customers will be able to choose courier delivery or delivery to parcel terminals.

As part of the strategic cooperation with Wileyfox, SPSR Express will also provide fulfillment services in Hong Kong.

“From the first day on, we believed in this brand and design. Realising the importance that logistics has for a brand sold only via the online channel, we immediately set ourselves the goal of developing a unique solution for Wileyfox – a solution that, despite cross-border sales, will offer Russian consumers the best possible service, similar to the service of the best Russian online shops. This includes fast delivery, a choice of delivery channels and the cash-on-delivery as well as a ‘payment by credit’ option,” Vasilyev added.
