Amazon is speeding up in Italy with the launch of its Prime Now fast delivery service in and around Milan with more cities to follow next year.
The move makes Italy the second European market where the service is available after the UK, and ahead of larger markets such as Germany and France.
The US e-commerce giant announced on its Italian website that members of its Prime loyalty scheme can now order goods for delivery within one hour for €6.90 or within two hours for free.
The service, with a minimum order of €19, covers some 15,000 products. This includes deliveries of food as Amazon already launched a food delivery service in Italy back in July.
François Nuyts, Amazon country manager for Italy and Spain, commented: “Italy is the second country in Europe where Prime Now has been launched and we are very proud to offer our Prime customers ultra-fast delivery.”
