UPS has expanded its presence and services in 13 additional cities as part of its long term growth strategy in China.
The company announced that it has enhanced its services by improving transit times, extending cut-off times to tender shipments and deploying UPS knowledge and expertise in the 13 cities, located in Jiangsu, Shandong, Zhejiang, Guangdong provinces, and in Chongqing Municipality.
Customers in these cities will now have direct access to UPS’s full portfolio of services, innovative technology solutions, first-in-class global network, customs brokerage and management services, and logistics expertise to help them better compete in the global marketplace.
The key benefits include accelerated speed to key markets to/from Asia, Europe and the US (by up to 2 days), and flexibility and convenience with UPS’s later cut-off times to tender shipments (by up to 6 hours).
In addition, customers benefit from broad time-definite service coverage for imports into China with guaranteed 12pm and 2pm deliveries via UPS Worldwide Express service. Other advantages include ease of visibility over shipments with UPS’s proprietary tracking solutions, professional and efficient billing solutions and comprehensive consultation services from logistics experts.
UPS entered the China market in 1988 and serves over 300 cities across the country today. This latest initiative enhances its presence in tier 2 cities and represents its continuous effort to evolve as more Chinese businesses in tier 2 and 3 cities seek export opportunities.
“UPS is in the business of connecting markets, businesses, organizations and people through logistics. As China continues to liberalise its economy, balance growth across the country, and improve its infrastructure through initiatives such as ‘One Belt, One Road’, UPS is committed to expanding our presence in China and enabling more businesses to achieve their cross-border pursuits,” said Nando Cesarone, President of UPS Asia Pacific. “This expansion is part of UPS’s long-term Asia Pacific strategy to facilitate trade growth within and beyond Asia.”
Richard Loi, President of UPS China, added: “UPS’s ‘Made in China 2.0’ Readiness Index research suggests that China’s manufacturing industry is undergoing a rapid paradigm shift characterised by a move towards high value sectors, innovation and global connectivity. Chinese exporters are now adopting a more customer-centric approach, which requires more collaborative partnerships and logistics support.
“Our latest enhancements is a response to this demand. UPS is well-positioned to collaborate with our customers to help them with their logistics needs, gain competitive advantage and grow their business.”
