Spanish express parcels company SEUR aims to reach 85% of the country’s population through its new Pickup delivery points for B2C parcels.
The company plans to extend the parcel point network to 1,600 locations by 2017, as part of DPDgroup’s expansion of its European B2C alternative delivery network to 20,000 locations in 13 countries at present. The Pickup points, for parcel collection and returns, are located in small retail shops such as kiosks, newsagents, tobacconists and florists.
David Sastre, SEUR’s head of strategic planning, commented: “Pickup is another demonstration of our support for customers, a service that makes parcel deliveries and returns even more flexible with an alternative network to home deliveries that counts with outlets located in central and accessible areas that are less than 15 minutes away for 85% of the population.
“In addition, our network of parcel points offers a greater range of opening hours that mostly include the weekends. What’s more, a high percentage of shipments will already be available in the Pickup point in the mornings in future,” he pointed out.
Sastre added: “Delivery to collection points is turning into a critical factor for B2C, which is why Pickup puts us into a position of competitive advantage that will enable us to maintain leadership of this market.”
SEUR has rolled out a package of e-commerce solutions over the last year under the label ‘e-commerce 365°’ to improve customer experience. These include same-day and Sunday deliveries, as well as SEUR Predict, which offers advance delivery notification and various delivery options.
