Austrian Post offers ‘welcome package’ to refugees

Austrian Post has launched a campaign to generate public donations of goods for refugees in the country under the name ‘#Willkommenspaket’ (Welcome Package).

In cooperation with the social aid organisation Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB), the postal group is appealing to Austrians to hand in a parcel containing vitally needed goods such as clothes, shoes and blankets at any of its post offices or postal agencies. The parcel will then be transported free of charge to a central ASB warehouse and the donated goods will be distributed to refugee camps across the country. The campaign is scheduled to run until October 31.
