European B2B courier Flash Europe International, part of Flash Group, is expanding its presence in Spain with a new office in Barcelona, complementing the company’s network of its own offices in 18 countries throughout Europe.
Flash Europe said this direct market entry under the leadership of the Country Manager Iberia Ricardo Telinhos marks another step forward in its strategy of continuously expanding its dense network.
The company has been active in the Iberian Peninsula since 2008. With the sustained and ongoing upturn in the Spanish automotive industry, the country has a high strategic value for Flash. According to the Spanish Association of Vehicle Manufacturers (ANFAC), this positive trend of the past two years is due to continue in 2015, with the number of vehicles produced forecast to hit the 2.6 million mark.
"Only when we’re there on the ground can we respond to our customers' local needs, are in the immediate proximity of their production sites, speak the local language and can make it easy for our customers to work together with us," Flash Group CEO Philippe Higelin summed up the key benefits.
“Spain is the second largest vehicle manufacturer in Europe and we already make 80% of our revenues in the Iberian region in Spain”, Telinhos said underlining the importance of the Spanish market.
Comprised of several European companies, Flash Group launched a unified market presence under one single brand ‘Flash’ last year. It incorporates the long-established enterprises Flash Europe, Flash Taxicolis (formerly Taxicolis and La Poste subsidiary), British logistics provider V-one (taken over in February 2012), Roberts Europe (acquired in May 2012) and the French brand BioLogistics, which is specialised in pharmaceutical transports.
With 450,000 special deliveries last year, Flash provides direct deliveries (premium road freight), air freight solutions and premium air freight including trade lanes services, same-day services, air charter – with their own charter department – on-board courier solutions as well as multimodal freight on the road or in the air. It has built up specific competence in the healthcare sector and the automotive industry, with its global network covering 78 countries. Flash has access to more than 6,000 vehicles and 600 aircraft and works together with around 1,500 longstanding and reliable partners. It currently employs 490 staff.
