GLS successfully transported and delivered this year's trophies for the prestigious German Film Awards in Berlin as its logistics partner for the third year in a row to the winners in Germany and other countries.
With a total of €3 million in prize money, the German Film Awards, held on June 19 this year, are the most lucrative cultural awards in the country.
Because the winners' names were kept a secret until the last minute, the winners could not take their awards home right away but had to wait until their names were properly engraved on the so-called 'LOLA' statuettes. GLS then delivered the awards to the winners' locations.
With seven nominations, the film "Victoria", directed by Sebastian Schipper, was among the big favourites of the German Film Awards and finally received six LOLAs at the end of the event, including the top categories ‘Best Film’, ‘Best Director’ as well as both ‘Female Lead’ and ‘Male Lead’.
During the after-show party at the Berliner Palais, GLS kept the 'LOLA' statuettes safe at a dedicated stand while the winners celebrated their triumph. After the ceremony, the statuettes went back again to the jeweller so the names of the winners could be engraved.
Apart from the German Film Awards, GLS is a logistics partner for several other film events including the German young talents award First Steps, the European Film Awards and the LET’s CEE Film festival in Vienna.
