DPD Austria has been successfully expanding its B2C services this year now counting over 750 Pickup parcel shops nationwide with the aim to reach 1,000 at the end of 2015 while its online services such as Predict or Web Parcel are becoming increasingly popular with customers.
“This year, DPD is focusing on B2C expansion. We already have more than 750 Pickup parcel shops throughout Austria and our new online services are being extensively used by customers,” Rainer Schwarz, DPD Austria CEO, said.
“With the existing parcel shops, we already provide comprehensive coverage all over Austria. Our goal is to ensure that the customer can reach the nearest DPD parcel shop within 15 minutes. This is especially important for our customers living in the countryside. That’s why we continue to expand our parcel shop network intensively to reach 1,000 shops by the end of the year,” he stated.
This year, DPD Predict has recorded 50% growth in Austria, with customers putting highest possible flexibility first. By using the online service, the recipients can postpone the delivery of their parcels by up to six days and re-direct the delivery to one of the DPD Pickup parcel shops or to another address. “And the service for customers to track their packages online any time is a matter of course, which we have been offering as part of our standard services for a while now,” Schwarz added.
With DPD Web Parcel, shippers can prepare their parcels online including parcel label creation, which is being increasingly used by customers. “DPD scores with service, above all, thanks to the added value it offers to the shippers. They save time and money,” Schwarz explained. They can prepare their parcels for shipping round the clock via the internet and the online tariffs are also cheaper.
