Austrian Post has bought a 60% majority stake in Aktionsfinder, an online platform enabling consumers to search for special offers in digitalised sales brochures.
The start-up portal, with about one million visits per month, presents the latest sales brochures and flyers of all major retailers in Austria, including supermarkets, superstores, DIY stores and similar retailers. Consumers can directly compare products and prices through the website or the company’s app.
“The aim of this stake in the digital offers platform Aktionsfinder is to extend the services of Austrian Post with digital opportunities in combination with our core business and to use synergy effects sensibly,” explained Georg Mündl, head of the group’s Mail Solutions unit.
The two founders of Aktionsfinder, Michael Niedermoser and Gerhard Froner, will each retain a 20% stake in the company and remain as managing directors alongside Nicole Lendl, head of Mail Solutions marketing and business development.
