DHL Parcel Benelux opens new head office

DHL Parcel Benelux's new head office

DHL Parcel Benelux has opened a new head office in the Dutch city of Utrecht as it continues to expand its activities in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg.

Named ‘Parcel House’, the building was officially opened last week by city councillor Jeroen Kreijkamp who recalled that the predecessor company, Antwerp-based Van Gend & Loos, opened an office in Utrecht as long ago as 1826.

Some 280 staff work in the building, located close to the A2 motorway. A DHL Parcel Station is located at the entrance for employees to collect their own packages.

Wouter van Benten, CEO DHL Parcel Benelux, said: "The modern appearance of this office fits our role as the carrier for e-commerce. It is one of the many investments we are making and that contributes to our ambition to be the best and most innovative package delivery service in the Benelux countries."

DHL Parcel Benelux, with 5,000 staff in the Netherlands and 1,000 in Belgium, aims to establish itself as the number two parcels delivery company behind incumbents PostNL, bpost and Post Luxemburg.
