last few months. This week TZ’s US subsidiary Telezygology secured a strategically important purchase orderfor its Smart Locker System from a major US biotechnology corporation, which is one of the largestemployers on the West Coast with around 10,000 employees on campus. The name of the company was notdisclosed.
“This purchase order covers the establishment of a fully integrated TZ Smart Locker System,”Kenneth Ting, Executive Director of TZL, said. “This should set the standard for mail and parceldistribution across their massive multi-building campus in the Bay Area and for further Locker Bankpurchases as the solution becomes part of standard employee utility.”
The value of the initial deployment is around AUD$225,000 comprising the enterprise softwaredevelopment, licenses and the locker deployment. This represents the first commercial deal by TZ’sUS subsidiary that provides a total turn-key and customised hardware and software solution to thelarge US corporate market.
Last week, TZ finalised negotiations and signed a contract with Malaysian postal operator PosMalaysia Berhad for the supply, delivery, installation, customisation, integration, testing, commissioning and post-implementation support of its electronic parcel lockers. Earlier this month, TZ received an initial purchase order from the University of Technology,Sydney (UTS) Housing Service for the deployment of its parcel locker system at their Broadwaycampus to enable the management and delivery of parcels for the UTS student residents.
The system represents a fully integrated solution enabling students who are living on campusto conveniently pick-up their parcels from an on-campus location at any time of the day at theirconvenience. Currently, if students are not at home to receive their parcels they get anotification card to pick up their items from local post office or distribution hub.
The end-to-end offering involves the coordination of several key service providers includingFastway Couriers to receive, sort and manage last mile delivery of parcels to the campus; MonitorBusiness Machines to provide a payment management system for parcel transactions; and the UTSHousing team, who are able to provide a higher level of student services through this initiative.TZ’s back-end software will underpin the total solution and integrate with the various third partysystems to ensure a seamless service offering.
“This is the first engagement with an Australian University and represents an exciting newapplication for TZ and what we believe should be a strong and relevant value proposition to otherUniversities and their residential housing programmes,” Ting said. “This is a great example of afully integrated offer whereby TZ has partnered with a number of strategic partners to deliver anew and innovative end-to-end solution to meet our client’s needs.”
Last month, TZL provided its 100th locker bank to Singapore Post under the brand POPStation.Meanwhile, 85 machines have already been installed at selected locations across Singapore while theremaining 15 terminals are scheduled for deployment in early 2015.
