Royal Mail, Geodis, DHL and Marken made changes in their senior management in January.

In the UK, Royal Mail’s Chairman Donald Brydon will step down from the Board later this year but

will continue to chair the Board at least until the summer, until his successor has been appointed.Brydon was appointed Chairman of Royal Mail plc in 2009 and was involved in the company’s ongoingtransformation and the Group’s flotation in October 2013.

“I am proud of what Royal Mail has achieved as a company in the last six years. Ourtransformation is well underway and we are now a FTSE 100 listed company. I feel that now is theright time for me to make this decision,” Brydon said.

Moya Greene, Royal Mail CEO, commented: “Donald has played a key role as Chairman during one ofthe most eventful periods in our history. I would like to personally thank him for his support andcounsel.”

In France, Thomas Kraus (48) has been appointed as the new Group Marketing Director of Geodis,with effect from this month. Formerly CEO of TNT Express in Germany for six years, Kraus will be incharge of developing a cohesive and differentiating marketing strategy for Geodis, incorporatingthe full range of the group’s know-how. He will also run the marketing community at Geodis.

Kraus held various positions within TNT. In 24 years of experience in the transport andlogistics sector, he has gained extensive know-how in designing, developing and deploying sales andmarketing strategies as well as being at the helm of sizable business units.

In Japan, DHL Supply Chain has appointed Gavin Murdoch as the new President and RepresentativeDirector, with effect from January this year. Murdoch will be responsible for implementing DHLSupply Chain’s strategy in the country to speed up growth. Murdoch takes over from Noboru Matsuokawho retired from the position in September 2014.

“Gavin has extensive logistics experience and strong knowledge of the Japanese market amassedfrom an extended period spent working in the country earlier in his career. In recent years, wehave successfully developed our operations in the country and established secure foundations tosupport future expansion,” Oscar De Bok, CEO, DHL Supply Chain Asia Pacific, said.

“We provide supply chain solutions to customers across a diverse range of sectors and used thisknowledge and experience to enter the automotive industry in Japan last year. We will support theinbound to manufacturing operations for a leading Japanese manufacturer and will be activelyseeking to grow this new sector,” Murdoch added.

Prior to his appointment as President of DHL Supply Chain Japan, Murdoch was Managing Directorof Tradeteam in the UK where he spent five years leading DHL’s specialist drinks distribution arm.James Gill will take over the position as the new Managing Director of DHL Tradeteam. He bringsmore than fifteen years of experience to his new role and has been working with DHL since 2004.

Meanwhile, medical logistics specialist Marken has announced the appointment of Antonio Belotoas the new General Manager for Argentina and Brazil. Beloto brings along over 24 years ofexperience in pharmaceutical supply chain management for several top pharmaceutical companies. Hisprevious responsibilities included supply chain development and management, logistical hub creationfor large volume transactions and the management of owned and outsourced warehouse facilities.Beloto has also served as legal representative for several companies within Brazil while managingteams in Latin American countries such as Argentina, Chile, Peru and Uruguay.

Ernest Batista, Marken Vice President Logistics Operations for Latin America, said: “Antoniobrings strong Latin American pharma expertise that will allow us to continue our strong investmentinto this region. Brazil and Argentina are key countries for Marken and with the growth of ourstate-of-the-art depot network, we are experiencing a strong demand for our drug storage anddistribution services as for our biological sample export services.”
