UPS, DHL, PostNL, UK parcel firms APC Overnight and Bybox, Fastway Couriers and Germanassociation BIEK have announced managerial appointments and changes in late November and during
December.UPS has made more changes in the top management team. Teresa Finley, former Treasurer and VicePresident for Corporate Finance, will be promoted to Senior Vice President for Global Marketing andwill join the UPS Management Committee. In addition, Finley will be responsible for advancedanalytics at UPS Capital and for UPS intellectual property management.
John McDevitt, Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Labour Relations, has announced hisplans to retire. He will be followed by Teri McClure who will lead Human Resources, Legal andEmployee Communications staff. Responsibility for UPS Labour Relations will be taken by MitchNichols, currently Senior Vice President of UPS Transportation and Engineering.
Kurt Kuehn, Chief Financial Officer, will add the Audit and Compliance staff functions to hisexisting responsibilities. Richard Peretz will be promoted to take an expanded role in Finance andAccounting. Peretz will be Corporate Controller for all UPS business units and accept a new role asCorporate Treasurer. Alan Gershenhorn takes responsibility for oversight of the UPS Public Affairsstaff. Ed Buckley was named President, Communications, reporting to Gershenhorn.
In France UPS named Michael Harrell as regional director for France. He succeeds GregoryGoba-Ble who was promoted to vice president of engineering at UPS Americas.
DHL has appointed Andrew Williams as CEO for DHL Express Canada. He replaces Greg Hewitt whowill take on the role of Area General Manager, Northeast US for DHL Express USA. Williams has beenwith DHL for over 12 years and previously worked as DHL Express’ Vice President of Sales for theAmericas region.
In Africa, Maurice Effombo has been appointed as new Country Manager for DHL Express Tanzania.Since 2009 he held the role of Country Manager for DHL Express in Cameroon. Meanwhile KevinPhillips has been appointed Country Manager for DHL Express in Namibia.
PostNL has announced it will expand its Executive Committee from February 1 2015 with a newmember. Pim Berendsen will be responsible for International and M&A. At the moment Berendesenis business director at Van Gansewinkel Groep where he is responsible for corporatedevelopment.
APC Overnight also announced the appointment of two new directors to join the board ofdirectors. Paul Griffiths, currently Managing Director of Able Couriers, will bring in hisknowledge of customer needs and delivery capabilities, while Mark Fletcher, the firm’s FinanceDirector, will also take on the role of Company Secretary. The two new appointments follow IvorSkinner’s retirement. He was a member of the APC Overnight board of directors for 15 years.
At Fastway Couriers Brem Ellingham has been appointed as chairman. With immediate effect he willreplace Bill McGowan who has retired and will continue in the role of non-executive director.Ellingham’s new responsibility includes the management and expansion of Fastway Global, whichoversees the operation of the Fastway brand in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Northern Irelandand South Africa.
Former DeLonghi financial director Peter Rowse has been hired as Chief Financial Officer atBritish firm ByBox. His role will be to strengthen the ByBox’s financial capabilities while alsousing his commercial experience to support the group’s future plans.
The German logistics and express association BIEK has announced the appointment of a newdirector. Florian Gerster will take the position effective from January 1, 2015. He succeeds GunnarUldall who is retiring from the post.
