GLS has successfully provided delivery logistics services for the third LET’S CEE Film Festival, aninternational film week focusing on Eastern Europe, which took place in Vienna, Austria, from
October 2-11.As the festival’s logistics partner, GLS picked up the participating movies in theiroriginal countries and delivered them to the Austrian capital. The first transports started inearly September, when GLS began to pick up DVDs, blu-ray discs and 35mm films in Romania, Hungary,Latvia, Czech Republic, Poland and Croatia.
The films were shown in cinemas across the inner city of Vienna and gained various prizes.After the festival GLS also carried the engraved awards to the laureates, including Estoniandirector Ilmar Raag and Russian director Vitaly Manksy.
“The LET’S CEE Film Festival brings cultural diversity to Vienna. We are happy to supportthe event for the third time and to be able to demonstrate our Eastern Europe competence,” saidAxel Spörl, Region Manager GLS Austria & Portugal.
In everyday operations GLS delivers standard shipments from the Vienna area to Hungary,Czech Republic and Slovakia within 24 hours. The shipments are processed at the Leobendorf Depot inthe north of Vienna, which handles around 30,000 parcels each day.
According to GLS, parcel volumes to Eastern Europe are increasing, partly at double-digitgrowth rates.
