German night delivery service Night Star Express is aiming to deliver more than five millionshipments this year after growing to 2.4 million shipments in the first half-year.
Night Star Express said the mid-single digit percentage growth so far this year has expanded itsposition as Europe’s second biggest night delivery service.
Growth is still being driven by the spare parts business for the automotive industry, which isone of the core markets for in-night deliveries. With improved services in areas such as returnshandling, IT organisation and quality management, Night Star Express wants to remain on itssuccessful path in the second half of 2014.
Night Star Express was founded in 1993 by seven medium-sized German freight companies. Thecarrier picks up parcels across Germany by late afternoon and delivers them by not later than eightin the morning. Shipments are delivered to exact and individually prescribed locations, such as carboots, storehouses or depot boxes.
