Medical logistics specialist Marken has opened a branch office in Brazil as part of its ongoingexpansion in Latin America.
The new office and legal entity in Sao Paulo “further confirms Marken’s position in the clinicaltrials market within this important region”, the company said. Led by Country Manager ClaudiaTofaneto, Marken is servicing more than 1000 clinical trial investigator sites throughoutBrazil.
CEO Wes Wheeler said: “Adding Marken’s new office and staff, combined with our own legal entity,once again illustrates our commitment to the region and the clinical trials sector. We now have aglobal footprint of 36 locations which gives us access and full visibility to all investigatorsites throughout the world. Our new office in San Paulo allows us to further tailor our services tothe needs of our customers and investigator sites in Brazil.”
At the same time, three new depots are nearing completion in South America, which will bring theglobal total to 10 GMP-compliant, purpose-built depots within Marken’s network. The new depots inChile, Peru, and Brazil will add almost 20,000 square feet (1,860 sqm) of space to Marken’spharmaceutical depot network, bringing Marken’s total square footage depot capabilities to over100,000 square feet (9,300 sqm) globally. These three additional depots in South Americacombine to provide optimum coverage of all investigator sites in this very important clinicaltrials region.
