PostNL is expanding its large goods delivery services in Benelux by taking over the two-mandelivery activities of German-based logistics group Fiege.
The Dutch postal group said today that it has agreed with Fiege to take over its one- andtwo-man handling services for consumers in the Benelux. This service provides home delivery andoptional installation of large consumer goods such as electronic household appliances.
A PostNL spokesman told CEP-Research that the company was not acquiring any assets from Fiegebut would be providing delivery services for the logistics group.
PostNL already delivers large products to Dutch consumers with optional installation and returnservices through its Extra@Home service. With this step, it will further strengthen its position inthe Netherlands and gain market entry in Belgium and Luxembourg.

Fiege, one of Europe’s leading logistics service providers, provides a wide range of warehousingand distribution services in the Benelux countries to customers in diverse sectors, includingconsumer goods. In 2012, it signed a long-term logistics agreement with fast-growing e-commercefirm Coolblue to provide home deliveries of large goods in the Netherlands and Belgium.
