FedEx Express, TNT Express, UPS and Marken have appointed senior managers to new executive roleswhile PostNord’s logistics chief is leaving the company.
FedEx Express yesterday announced the appointment of David Binks as regional president forEurope, Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa (EMEA) from January 1, 2014, in place of GeraldP. Leary, who is retiring after 39 years with the company.
Based at the EMEA headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, Binks will be responsible for the broaderleadership and strategic direction of FedEx Express across the entire EMEA region. With FedEx since1983, Binks most recently served as senior vice president of European Operations and was earlierpresident of FedEx Canada. Michael Holt, currently CEO of FedEx UK and Vice President ofOperational Integration Europe, will assume Binks’ current role.
“David has been very instrumental in the strategic expansion of our European network over thepast few years,” said Dave Bronczek, president and chief executive officer of FedEx Express. “He has helped significantly enhance our capabilities in Europe, and his appointment provides acontinuity of leadership that will be extremely valuable as we build on our presence in the regionand serve even more customers in the years to come.”
Regarding Leary’s retirement, Bronczek added: “Jerry has been a valuable member of ourleadership team, and has set very high standards with his tremendous work in EMEA. He leavesthe team on a clearly defined path for a great future, and we wish him all the best.”
At TNT Express, Chris Goossens has been appointed to a newly created Management Board-levelposition as Managing Director Customer Experience, effective immediately. She will lead a dedicatedCustomer Experience team, responsible for perfecting customers’ door-to-door experience.
Goossens started with TNT Express in 1988 and has held global management positions in Sales,Customer Experience and Operations. Her most recent role was Managing Director Europe Other &Americas. In the interim, David Burton, Global Director Sales, will assume Chris’ formerresponsibilities.

UPS has made Jeff McCorstin its new president of global freight forwarding for the Asia-PacificRegion. In his new position, McCorstin will focus on air, ocean, rail and road freight strategy,revenue growth and specialised transportation services across 40 countries and territories in Asia.Most recently, McCorstin was senior vice president of International Air and Ocean Freight, based inAtlanta.

In Europe, Henrik Höjsgaard has stepped down from his position as head of logistics at PostNordwhich he has held since 2009 when PostNord was formed from the merger of Sweden Post and PostDanmark. Before that, Höjsgaard was head of logistics at Sweden Post. He is leaving for a positionin a non-competing business.
Healthcare logistics specialist Marken has announced the appointment of Michael Culme-Seymore tothe position of Vice President, Asia Pacific Region, effective October 14, 2013. Culme-Seymore isresponsible for clinical logistics and Marken’s seven branches in Singapore, Australia, India,China, Japan, Hong Kong and Korea.
