DHL Parcel Germany launches free GoGreen delivery for MyParcel shopping portal

DHL Parcel Germany has launched CO2-neutral GoGreen delivery for all shipments dispatched viaits online shopping portal ‘MyParcel’ (MeinPaket.de in German) at its own cost.

The company highlighted the added value for eco-friendly shoppers profiting from free ‘green’shipping with effect from September as the online portal bears the costs for GoGreen delivery ofall shipments. Shoppers will not experience any changes to their online order.

The CO2 emissions generated through transportation of parcels and mail with GoGreen are offsetby Deutsche Post DHL on behalf of its customers through internay recognised climate protectionprojects.

The MyParcel portal now counts over 1.5 million registered customers and over 2,500 retailers.Orders can be chosen from currently around 10 million products and will be automatically accountedfor the GoGreen service.

In 2012, Deutsche Post DHL delivered some 2.42 billion letters, parcel and express shipments asCO2-neutral deliveries, which was 30% more than the previous year. More than 25% of the retailersshipping their products with Deutsche Post or DHL Parcel are already using the GoGreen service withan increasing tendency.

Launched in 2010, the MyParcel shopping portal is part of DHL’s business strategy to provide acomprehensive service offering for e-commerce traders. In addition to the online marketplace withthe possibility of quick special sales of large stocks changing daily, parcel delivery andfulfillment services, the company launched an own online payment system called DHL Checkout in 2011which is not only integrated into MeinPaket.de but can be linked to any web shop. As an onlinepayment system with integrated order processing, DHL Checkout also supports the complete deliveryprocess from payment to shipment tracking and delivery via DHL Parcel.
