GLS is offering more convenience to Austrian customers with the introduction of the newFlexDelivery service enabling them to choose where and when they would like their parcels to be
delivered following its launch in Germany a year ago and in Netherlands in February this year.“Our free FlexDelivery service complements our domestic parcel delivery,” said Klaus Schädle,GLS’ Managing Director Europe South. “GLS thus responds to the needs of the people today. Theyorder a lot via the internet, are often on the road and rely on flexible shipping solutions.”
Shippers can use FlexDelivery very easily by submitting the recipient’s e-mail address, providedhis/her approval, together with the parcel data to GLS. The parcel operator will then handleeverything else.
As soon as the parcel has been dispatched, GLS Austria informs the recipient by e-mail when itis expected to be delivered including a time slot which is between 2-5 hours, depending on thedestination address. This way, it can be determined early if anyone is going to be at home toreceive the parcel.
The notification e-mail to the recipient also contains links to the GLS website and the GLSMobile App. If necessary, the parcel can be redirected or the delivery time changed, either onlineor via a mobile device.
Recipients have many options to choose from for receiving parcels. For example, they can changethe delivery day within seven working days after the collection from the shipper. In addition, theycan indicate a new delivery address such as the work place or one of the around 600 GLS parcelshops across Austria.
“With these and further options the GLS FlexDelivery service creates, above all, satisfactionfor recipients and shippers,” Schädle added. “For it is all about the ordered goods reaching theirdestination quickly and reliably,” he said.
