UK courier CitySprint makes fourth acquisition this year with UK Express

Expanding British courier firm CitySprint has made its fourth acquisition this year with a dealto buy Leeds-based UK Express.

The transition will take place smoothly with all UK Express employees transferring toCitySprint, and existing contact numbers will remain the same. The size of UK Express was notdisclosed. CitySprint now has a network of over 2,500 couriers and 37 service centres across theUK.

Patrick Gallagher, CitySprint CEO, said: “With the addition of this great business, we arestrengthening our presence in the Leeds area as well as continuing to build on our national reach.As well as our extensive national network we are also able to offer customers in the areaunrivalled technology, including our MyCourier app, live courier-tracking systems and automatedstatus notifications.”

Phil Bridge, owner and managing director of UK Express, added: “CitySprint shares our commitmentto excellent customer service, working with organisations of all sizes and a variety of needs. Through the deal, customers will profit from more couriers to collect their urgent deliveriesusing CitySprint’s round-the-clock service, 365 days a year. Additional options include onlinebooking and reporting, real-time tracking, email and SMS status notifications, and MyCourier appfor booking and tracking, available for Apple and Android devices.

Last month, CitySprint acquired The Courier Service, based in Enfield, north London. The companyspecialises in a range of parcel delivery services across the UK and Europe for local and nationalcustomers.
