Greyhound speeds up with door-to-door package deliveries

Greyhound

US coach giant Greyhound is speeding up its package transportation service by offeringdoor-to-door delivery services in cooperation with local couriers from September onwards.

The long-distance passenger transport operator announced yesterday that Greyhound PackageExpress (GPX), its expedited shipping business, will offer door-to-door service within the 48contiguous United States from September 3.

“Traditionally, customers had to go to their local Greyhound terminal to use our services,” saidDave Phillips, vice president, GPX. “By leveraging our relationships with local couriers across thecountry, we’re now able to bring GPX right to your door.”

GPX offers a wide range of delivery services, including same-day, early-next-day and deferredground delivery. The priority service levels include guaranteed delivery and are suited fortime-critical shipments, which can be scheduled for same day or overnight, depending on departuretime and distance, according to the company. The standard service is an economical option for lesstime-sensitive shipments with delivery time estimates ranging from one to 15 business days based ondistance.

Greyhound, which has offered package transportation for some 90 years, moves more than onemillion shipments per year using its network of more than 3,800 North American destinations.
