Night Star Express grows at double-digit rate

Night Star Express

German-based night delivery company Night Star Express generated strong growth in the first half of2013 and expects a further increase in the second half of the year.

The company, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, delivered more than 2.3 millionshipments over the first half of the year, representing a double-digit growth rate.

The night delivery specialist, a joint venture between seven mid-sized freight forwarders, said it continued to grow faster than the overall CEP market and extended its position as “theleading night express service company in Europe”.

Managing director Matthias Hohmann said growth had been driven by the company’s strongermarket presence in the last two years with the addition of more franchise partners and an improvedproduct portfolio.

“Top quality, individual transport solutions, personal customer care and strong staff loyaltyare the key for Night Star Express to achieve above-average growth on a continued basis,” he said.

Looking ahead, Hohmann said he expected the growth trend to continue. “Customers are muchmore flexible with our high-value first-class night express service and can optimise their customerservice. That increases their valued-added significantly and represents a USP for them compared tocompetitors,” he explained.

Night Star Express, with some 650 staff and about 700 vehicles, delivers over 4.2 millionshipments a year for customers such as Toyota, BMW, MAN, Iveco, Winkler Nutzfahrzeuge and ZeppelinBaumaschinen.
