Geodis has opened a new logistics centre in Hamburg, northern Germany, dedicated exclusively tomajor mass market distribution and e-commerce retailers.
The 32,000 sqm facility located in LogPark Hamburg will be prepared for operations during thissummer with 300 staff to be employed at the site during peak periods.
The new logistics complex will feature goods reception, warehousing, and order preparation aswell as value-added services for mass distribution and e-commerce markets such as labelling, piecepicking, and returns management.
“This new site strengthens our presence in Germany and demonstrates Geodis’ capacity to assistits customers with their supply chain management,” Laurent Parat, Geodis Logistics CEO, said.
Geodis currently employs 1,900 people in Germany, operating mainly through its units GeodisLogistics and Geodis Wilson. With 240,000 sqm of warehouse space overall and its long-termexpertise, the company offers a full range of supply chain services in the country.
