Canada Post’s mobile app reaches one million downloads

Canada Post’s app has been downloaded one million times hitting a major milestone since itslaunch in 2011 which was part of the company’s strategy to make its services accessible for

customers everywhere.

This means that nearly 3% of the 34.5 million Canadian population now has the postal operator’sapp, excluding businesses or other users.

The increasingly popular app contains various services such as parcel tracking, shipping ratelook-ups, and Canada Post’s digital mailbox epost, among others which customers can access throughtheir mobile devices. In addition, it offers users Picture Postage to create their own stamps,greeting cards and postcards.

“Available on all platforms, the app has consistently ranked among the top five free businessapps in Canada,” the postal operator said.

“We know Canadians have changed how they communicate and how they use postal services. Our jobis to make it convenient for them and evolve to meet their changing needs,” Kerry Munro, GroupPresident, Digital Delivery Network at Canada Post, said.

In 2011, Canadians tapped into the Canada Post mobile app seven million times. In the first halfyear of 2013, the figure nearly doubled. Tracking parcels remains the number one feature of the appwith more than 12 million packages tracked with a mobile device so far this year. Since epost hasbeen added to the app in December 2012, around 26,000 customers have been regularly accessing itevery month with the number of users continuously rising.

The app is not only popular with private customers but also with businesses. To make itsbusiness services more accessible, Canada Post has redesigned its business website simplifying thenavigation process and using an intelligent streamlining system that narrows the search forservices. “The changes enable companies to easily find the right solutions for their needs,” thecompany concluded.
